Stillness Training
Anxiety is energy without a direction. It builds up when you refuse to sit with yourself.
Why stillness, not distraction
Most anxiety advice is really just distraction advice: go do something else until the feeling passes. That works short-term and does nothing long-term, because the energy never actually goes anywhere — it just gets deferred. Stage 4 is about sitting with it long enough for it to move through instead of around.
How the practice runs
- Sit for 10 minutes. No app required, no specific technique — just timed, uninterrupted stillness.
- Don't fight the thoughts. Let them pass without engaging. The goal isn't a blank mind, it's tolerance.
- Notice where the energy actually sits. Anxiety shows up in the body first — chest, jaw, stomach. Locate it before trying to think your way past it.
- Log it and move on into Stage 5: Education.
A companion guide
We put together a short guide on working with difficult emotions during this stage, for the days when 10 minutes of stillness feels like the hardest part of the whole protocol.
