The Walking Protocol
You aren't tired. You're uninspired and stagnant. Motion creates emotion.
Why walking, not training
This isn't a fitness program. Stage 2 is deliberately low-friction: a phone-free walk, every day, no pace target and no distance goal. The point isn't cardiovascular improvement — it's giving your body somewhere to put restless energy so your mind can actually settle.
How the walking protocol works
- 20 minutes minimum, no phone. Outside if you can manage it. The phone stays behind — that's the whole mechanism.
- No destination pressure. This isn't training for anything. It's daily motion, full stop.
- Let thoughts move without chasing them. You'll notice things surface. Don't try to solve them mid-walk — that's what Stage 3 is for.
- Log it and move on. Mark it complete, then carry the same-day momentum into Stage 3: Reflection.
Why this actually helps with overthinking
Anxiety and overthinking are, physically, unspent energy. Sitting with a racing mind and trying to "think your way out" usually just deepens the loop. Walking gives that energy somewhere to go, which is why it's Stage 2 and not an afterthought.
Run the full protocol
Movement is Stage 2 of 5. The free DRG app keeps the daily core going: Listen, Move and Reflect, with your streak tracked one day at a time.
It's free — no card required.
